My icings that have dairy products in them (milk, half & half, hvy cream, cr cheese, butter) won't

keep as long as a decorator icing I make that has only water, Crisco, 10X sugar & extracts/flavorings in it. The decorator icing will last indefinitely in a chest freezer and it'll keep in the refrigerator for a good 6 months. I typically immediately use up any icing that has a dairy product in it and if I have any left over, I wrap it tightly and store it in the freezer for a month or two. It might possibly last longer than a month or two, but I've never tested it for an extended period of time.
