I first tasted this at my Aunt Mary's on Christmas Eve.
Foolproof Dark Chocolate Fudge

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

9 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
9 ounces butterscotch chips
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
1 cup walnuts -- chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
In a double boiler, melt chips with sweetened condensed milk and salt. Remove from hear; stir in nuts and vanilla. Spread evenly into wax paper-lineed 8- or 9-inch square pan.
Chill 2 hours or until firm.
Turn fudge onto cutting board; peel off paper and cut into squares. Store loosley covered at room temp.
MICROWAVE: In 1-quart glass measure, combine chips with sweetened condensed milk. Cook on 100% power (high) 3 minutes. Stir until chips melt and mixture is smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients. Proceed as above.

NOTES : Mary Farmer spoons the mixture into a foil lined 9-inch pie plate. Decorate with green and red candied cherries. Or omit nuts then top wreath with half walnuts or peacans.
